Dan Bristol is the City Administrator of Niagara Falls, New York. He is the senior administrative officer assigned to the City’s Executive Branch led by the Mayor as Chief Executive Officer. The City Administrator directs, coordinates and supervises the operation of all departments, offices and agencies of the City government. The Administrator has authority to appoint, suspend or remove all department heads and all employees of the city. Dan is the acting Mayor in the event of absence, illness or succession.

Prior to his appointment, Dan served as the Chief of Staff, Office of Administration, Executive Office of the President of the United States in the administration of President George W. Bush.

He was previously the Special Assistant for Information Technology for the United States House of Representatives for five years after his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force.

Dan’s had numerous officer and enlisted assignments in the Air Force and the Air National Guard of the United States including Operations Group Commander of the 107th Fighter Interceptor Group during it’s transition to air refueling airlift aircraft and redesignation as the 107th Air Refueling Wing, a unit of the New York Air National Guard based at Niagara Falls International Airport.

Prior to this command assignment, then Lieutenant Colonel Bristol was the Military Assistant in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower, Installations, Environment and Reserve Affairs during the administration of President George H. W. Bush.

Dan was born in Niagara Falls, New York. Dan graduated from numerous professional institutions including the United States Air War College, The Catholic University of America, and The Universidad de Valencia, Spain. He has received numerous honors including the United States Legion of Merit, selection to the National Social Science Honor Society, and Top Graduate of the Air National Guard Leadership Academy.
