The Department of Management Information Services is responsible for the operation, maintenance, user support and software development for the city’s main platform, an IBM iSeries located in City Hall networked to six remote locations throughout the city. We currently run the New World Systems Public Administration software package as well as several systems written in house on the iSeries. Applications include Financial Management, Human Resources, Utility Billing, Property Taxes, Traffic Court, etc. The department also supports approximately 300 PC users. This includes installation of hardware and software, configuration of PCs, user support, network issues and general trouble shooting.
